This painting was done deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Imagine a hike in the forest by a quiet creek in late April.  The trees are bursting into striking spring green colors in the warm sunlight, however, the forest floor is still cool from the melting snowfall that covered the landscape the night before.  That’s an authentic image of springtime in the Black Hills!

The original oil painting is on stretched canvas.  This original work was painted with a variety of vivid color and texture using palette knives and brushes. 

The canvas is 15” X 30” and is on stretcher bars approximately 1 ¼ inches thick.
